Let’s speak and hear in Armenian
This language of Ararat
Sounds like a pure pray
And tunes in the monasteries.
Love to speak in Armenian,
This divine, golden tongue
Which fought against the iron swords
But maintained its crystal source.
Stone tablets with cuneiform
They gave us light and hope
And on the roads of delusion
They showed us the right path.
I know other languages which
Disappeared leaving no trace
Parchments and books
Its gleams have not faded away.
Speak, speak in Armenian
It sounds so beautiful,
In the songs of Komitas
Like love in the hearts.
In Armenian say your prays
If you’re living the toughest days,
The pray will be delivered
Byron was right, he was brilliant.
